Rib Night at Davids

So I had a rib night the other night. I sent out this face book invite to some people in the ward as well as others thinking well some of them might come.

Close your eyes as you read this and image in your mind these amazing ribs. The ribs will be tender and the meat falls right off the bone because they will be slow cooking over an open fire for hours. Generally, people think of baby back ribs as a meal they would only order when at a restaurant. Not so when you know David Oakes.

I will also be grilling up some chicken and some home made hamburgers for you non-rib people and you you rib people who like to eat. Fell free to bring friends.

So after that invite I had to do an awesome job. So on Wednesday I marinate in my special stuff. When Saturday came around it was the big day of the rib night. So at 1:30 or so I started to get ready for the grill. Got the coals going really hot and put the coals as low as could. So around 2 I tossed on the ribs.

I learned my lesson from the last few times I grilled ribs and kept a close eye on them so they would not get burned. And they did not for the record. So I sent this message to the invited people around 5. Ribs will be done around 6:30 and gone around 7;) after the ribs are done cooking will start on the burgers and chicken.

Well the ribs where done but it began rain. So I cut up the ribs into 2 or 3 ribs per cut. Took them inside. Told the brave people out side the ribs are ready enjoy. Poked my head in the living room and said the ribs are done and enjoy. Took a piece of ribs went out side to start on the burgers. So at this time I did not know how many people where over. Early in the day I brought almost 6 lbs of ground beef. I made my own patties (18 good size burgers) and they where on 2 plates. At this time I was thinking I should of got less meat. So I took one plate inside. Tossed the 1st plate of hamburgers. Cooked them up about 5-10 mins after I took the ribs out side my roommate came out and said half the people in the living room did not get any ribs. So after the flip of the burgers I went inside and into the living room and looked around to see how many people where inside. Then I thought to myself well maybe I will need to cook the 2nd plate of burgers after all. So after the 1st plate was done cooking i took them inside and took the 2nd plate outside to cook. About 5 mins later Someone said the burger are gone already. Which by the way where thick and juicy and cooked all the way though. So when the 2nd plate was done i took them inside and made myself a burger. Well I cooked some chicken as well and then we just sat around and talked.

Here is some review of the ribs.
Person #1. The ribs where good.
Person #2 I almost cried when I took my 1st bite of the ribs.
Person #2. These where better then last time David Oakes.

Person #6 I made a super rib and it was the best rib ever (he pulled two of the bones of the ribs and had one bone with a lot of meat on it)
